Yoga is my passion. For some, it's simply a means of relaxation, for me it's a way of life. 10 years ago while pregnant with my 2nd child, I discovered the internal benefits and external joys of yoga. Having been a gymnast, dancer and cheerleader during my childhood and teenage years, yoga was something that felt amazingly freeing and immediately provided me a sense of calm interconnecting my mind, my body and my soul as one.
I was hooked. And went on to complete my Yoga Alliance 200 hour certification in 2003/2004 and assisted Daren Friesen, the owner of Moksha Yoga, in a teacher training in 2005/2006. I have been apart of Healing Power Yoga since it's inception as well as Equinox in Highland Park.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of studying with many master teachers including Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Ana Forrest, John Friend, Tias Little, Baron Baptiste, Andre Lappa , Natasha Rizopoulos and Jonny Kest just to name a few. In the local community, I have studied and assisted Lourdes Paredes for many years.
I continue to study and train in various styles of yoga such as Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Anusara and most recently added hot yoga to my repertoire of practices. In addition, I incorporate pranayama and meditation into my classes.
I have chosen the path of yoga and live a yoga lifestyle. I believe that anyone can learn, at any age and anyone can dramatically change their life through yoga.
