Jessica Millen

According to Yoga philosophy, Prana is defined as the breath, vitality, or life-force energy.  For busy suburbanites, prana is essential.  It enters the body through the air we breathe, the food we eat and the environment in which we live.

The daily demands of raising and nurturing children and managing the endless details associated with running a household are undeniably rewarding but relentless exhausting.    



The moment we believe we do not have time in our lives for yoga practice is the moment we need yoga and the simple promises of prana most.   

At the start of every yoga practice one must concentrate on the breath.  By slowing the breath and focusing on filling our bodies with this energy; worries, obsessions, distractions, and criticisms leave us. Where we go from there-it is anyone's guess.

After 6 years of practicing pre and post-natal yoga, Jessica stepped onto her mat for a beginner class and relearned yoga from the ground up.  As Jessica continues to practice she discovered that she had more to give to those who rely on her.  Jessica follows a playful and creative spirit; one that she feels is nourished by spending time with children. 

Jessica has found that yoga is a great exploration, a challenging, valued journey, and one to share most especially with the youngest yoginis.  Jessica's greatest inspiration comes from her three children who inexplicably come into headstand in the middle of the kitchen. She teaches several styles of yoga to adults, children, expectant moms, and families. 

With much love and light, Jessica thanks Daren Friesen of Moksha Yoga for sharing his knowledge, infinite patience and gentle guidance throughout his teacher training program.  Jessica thanks her husband and 3 beautiful children, for their endless inspiration and wisdom, as well as her fellow Moksha teacher trainees, who showed me the true meaning of Namasté.
